GRAMMAR ISSUES
ELLIPSIS . . . THREE OR FOUR DOTS?
Should you use three dots (. . .) or four (. . . .)? And how about the spacing between the dots and around the dot group? And how do you handle ellipsis with a period, a question mark, and an exclamation mark?
PRESENT PARTICIPLE
Misuse of the present participle is common. Your writing will be much more effective when you stop using the present participle as a tacked-on final verb.
